Hand jigsaw or electric jigsaw?
When was the last time you used a power drill? Or a reciprocating saw? If you've never used one, it's no wonder. Many manual tools have given way to electric versions, which have proven to be more functional and easier to use. This also applies to the hero of today's article - the electric jigsaw.
The hand jigsaw is equipped with a thin, arc-shaped handle , which many people have had to use, and it is they who easily form the main complaints about the hand jigsaw.

In the case of easily breakable materials, damage is inevitable, and it is also difficult to process relatively strong standard plywood, which produces a lot of dust, which results in work delays and makes the task much more difficult.
To solve this inconvenience, specialists from the BOSCH company created the first electric jigsaw in 1940. The novelty turned out to be competitive.
At the moment, dozens of companies are producing them, including such well-known firms as Hitachi, Makita, and, of course, the leader in this field - the aforementioned BOSCH. The production of hand jigsaws will gradually cease.
What makes using an electric jigsaw more useful than a manual one? First of all, we note the razor power. With its help, it is possible to process not only plywood, but also thicker wooden materials.
It is also possible to work with harder materials, such as plastic, glass, brick, metal. Thus, an electric jigsaw is a full-fledged tool that can perform tasks for which we use a metal-cutting saw or the so-called grinder.
Like any power tool, an electric jigsaw is a rather dangerous tool, especially for the unskilled, although specialists know how to take appropriate precautions to avoid danger.
The so-called fixators, when in the engaged position, reduce the load on the arm, which reduces the effect of fatigue. A special guard prevents dust from accumulating in the saw blade, which contributes to a clearer view and does not lead to a decrease in cutting power.
Then why haven't the hand jigsaws been forgotten? Because they are much cheaper, even though craftsmen often have to change their blades.
For old-school craftsmen, using a hand jigsaw is much more acceptable, as it allows them to cut out shapes that an electric jigsaw cannot .
Each master does the work in a way that is most convenient for him, and giving up on traditions does not always lead to better results.
When choosing between them , consider the pros and cons , and after summarizing, choose the option that will be better for you personally.
