Very sad statistics are published every year about how many thousands of young children are killed and/or killed in car accidents.

The use of car seats, and even more so, their correct use, contributes to the safe transportation of children.

Manufacturers offer a very wide selection of cars to interested people. If we do not have information about what we need and what to choose based on, the diversity of the assortment can, on the contrary, become a cause of confusion.

When choosing the right car seat for your child, consider the child's age, height, and developmental stage.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) annually changes and refines its recommendations for safe car travel for children.

It is the parent's responsibility to constantly stay informed and make decisions regarding their child's safety based on this, because it concerns what is most valuable to them!

General recommendations are as follows:

  • Infants - The child seat should be secured in the back seat of the vehicle so that the child is facing the rear window. Most seats have restrictions on the maximum age, weight, and height of children.
  • Preschoolers - Children who have already outgrown the weight and height limits of infants, children of this age are allowed to position the car seat so that they are facing the windshield.
  • School-age children - The safety seat mechanism for children of this age is modified and is called a BOOSTER. It is used until the vehicle seat belt can no longer be properly fastened and locked.
  • Older children - When children's age and physical development allow them to properly wear a vehicle seat belt, the additional accessories listed above are no longer required. However, it is mandatory for all children under the age of 13 to sit in the back seat of the vehicle.
