Perforator - a method of perforating with a gun
There are many types of perforation, but one of the most common options is the use of a machine gun. It can penetrate pipes of varying hardness.
Bullets must reach:
- In the defense
- In cement
- In formations

The speed of a bullet leaving the barrel is approximately 300 m/s. Penetrating weak alloys is, of course, easier for a bullet. Penetrating heavy armor and formations is much more difficult in many cases, and sometimes even impossible.
Whenever possible, the bullet leaves a precise circular shape and, more often, a sharp, convex trace. Creating a tunnel length with a machine gun drastically reduces the strength of the formation.
Unlike the perforating form, the bullet often breaks the rock rather than simply guiding it through the tunnel. Ultimately, breaking it can even be an advantage, as cracking improves permeability next to the perforation.
Bullet penetration is primarily a function of the density and strength of the target in its path, as well as the operating factors of the gun. The energy released by a bullet is proportional to its mass.
Early performance measurement tests on machine guns showed a direct correlation between target penetration and the use of new weapon barrels.
The circumference of the entry hole and the present dissection around the perforation tunnel help improve stimulation in the lead.
The amount of lead used in a well is an indication that a large number of perforations spreads the flow entering the formation, resulting in lower flow velocity in a given perforation and less drag and pressure on the ball seal.
Advantages of bullet perforation:
- High permeability to the reservoir.
- Very controllable hole size and shape
Disadvantages of bullet perforation:
- Surface penetration
- Ineffective in hard formations and with high alloy or heavy pipe
- Leaving a solid mass of steel in the perforation tunnel
- Low density perforation
It seems that using a machine gun, as one of the most common perforators , is not the best option in some cases. Our goal is to get the exact and necessary result from the work we do.
Therefore, choosing the right tool for any task can really become more important than air for us. The quality of any work depends on what we work with and how well we use it. It doesn't matter if it's construction, architecture, or art.
