Power and performance

Huawei is touting the Mate X as the world's fastest foldable 5G phone. It will be able to perform any task ten times faster.

This is a claim against Samsung, as its Galaxy Fold offers 5G connectivity, albeit only in one version.

Huawei says that a 1GB movie will take about three seconds to download with this device.

There is some question about which processor will power the Mate X.

There will reportedly be two different variants of this model, one of which, which we saw in the spring, features the Kirin 980 processor and the Balong 5000 modem on board.
