- Energy efficiency : Look for water heaters with high energy factor (EF) ratings for better energy efficiency. Tankless heaters are often more energy efficient than storage tank heaters.

- Temperature control: Modern electric water heaters often have adjustable thermostats, allowing users to set and control the water temperature according to their preferences and safety standards.

- Installation and maintenance: Consider the installation requirements and maintenance needs of the selected water heater. Tank heaters may have different installation conditions than storage heaters.

- Safety features: Electric water heaters typically have safety features such as pressure relief valves and temperature limit controls to prevent accidents and ensure safe operation.
