What are water pumps?
A water pump is an electromechanical machine used to increase the pressure of water to move it from one point to another. Modern water pumps are used throughout the world for municipal, industrial, agricultural, and residential purposes, to supply water.
Water pumps are also used to transport wastewater in sewage treatment plants.
Modern water pumps most often use electricity, but there are models that have diesel or gasoline engines. In some remote areas, such as desert regions, solar energy is used to power the pump.

Types of water pumps:
There are several types of water pumps, including positive displacement pumps and centrifugal pumps, which provide the same service, however, operate differently.
The basic concept of a water pump is to use a motor to convert rotational or kinetic energy and use it to move a fluid.
Centrifugal pump:
Centrifugal pumps draw fluid in with a rotating impeller and expel it through centrifugal force, using impellers. This process increases the fluid's velocity and pressure, then directs it toward the pump's outlet.

Use of centrifugal pump:
A centrifugal water pump is most often used for agricultural purposes, it is a rotary machine in which an impeller rotates inside a body, drawing fluid into its center and discharging it through an opening in the side of the body.
Pumps are widely used in agriculture to lift water from a river, dam, or well. They then transport the water through pipes to a point of use or to a storage facility, such as a water tank or irrigation system.
Centrifugal pumps are also often used for sewage pumping because these pumps can be easily installed in pits and septic tanks and can easily move accumulated substances in the sewage.
