What does induction pan mean?
An induction pan is a specially made pan that is designed for use on an induction hob.
An induction cooker works on the principle of an electromagnetic field, which generates heat directly at the bottom of the cookware, rather than on the surface of the cooker, making the cooking process more efficient and energy-efficient.
How to recognize an induction pan?
To easily understand whether a pan is induction or not:
- Place a magnet on the bottom of the pan - if the magnet sticks firmly to the pan, then it will work on an induction stove.
- If the magnet does not stick or sticks very weakly, then this pan will not work on an induction stove.
An induction pan attracts a magnet. This is because an induction cooker works through an electromagnetic field and only reacts to ferromagnetic materials.
Therefore, the base of an induction pan is made of a material that can receive a magnetic field and generate an electric current in it, which causes heat to be generated.
Its base is usually thick and has a smooth surface to distribute heat as efficiently as possible.

Note that induction pans are often equipped with a special induction symbol (resembling a spiral), which confirms their compatibility with induction hobs.
If you want to use a regular (non-induction) pan on an induction hob , you can use an induction adapter, which allows you to place cookware made of different materials on the hob.
This is what the induction adapter looks like:

Advantages of an induction pan:
- The heat is generated directly in the pan, which reduces heating time.
- Minimal energy loss because heat is generated only at the bottom of the pan.
- The oven does not heat directly, which reduces the risk of burns.
- Ensures even cooking of food.
The savings achieved with an induction pan

We present a graph that shows that using an induction pan on an induction hob can save you up to 50 GEL per year (if the price per kWh is 0.12 GEL).
According to the schedule, if you have the stove on for an average of 1 hour per day:
- 1 pan - annual savings of approximately 17.28₾
- 2 pans - 34.56₾
- 3 pans - 51.84₾
The results show that the more pans you use on an induction hob, the greater the energy savings and monthly/annual savings.
