The Stinol refrigerator factory was founded on the basis of a metallurgical plant, which was built in 1989 by the Italian company Merloni Progetti.

In 1993, the new plant began producing the first batch of refrigerators. The original Stinol line consisted of seven models. By 1996, one million refrigerators were being sold annually from the Stinol plant, and their share of the Russian market was 40%.
However, during the 1998 crisis, sales of Stinol refrigerators fell by almost six times, which dealt a serious blow to the company. In 2000, Stinol merged with the Italian company Merloni Elettrodomestici, which was renamed Indesit in 2005.
Refrigerator manufacturer "Stinol"
Currently, refrigerators under the Stinol brand are no longer produced. The Lipetsk Refrigerator Plant continues to operate, but produces appliances under the Indesit and Hotpoint-Ariston brands.
