The history of the Braun company begins in 1921, when German mechanic Max Braun opened a small engineering shop in Frankfurt.

In 1923, Max began manufacturing parts for radio receivers. In 1928, thanks to the use of durable plastics, the company grew to the point where it moved to a new, larger building.
In 1929, eight years after opening his shop, Max Brown began manufacturing one-way radios. Soon after, Brown became one of the leaders in radio manufacturing. Development continued, and soon the first radio with a turbine was produced (1932).
In 1935, the Braun brand was introduced and the famous “A” logo appeared. In 1937, at the World’s Fair in Paris, Max Braun was awarded the “Best Sound Recorder Manufacturer” award. Three years later, over a thousand people were working for the company.
Braun continued to produce superbly designed radio-audio equipment and soon became known as a manufacturer of high-quality devices, including the famous SK series.
By 1956, the first projector with automatic slide switching was released - the PA 1. All projectors used a straight or linear slide tray, which allowed the product to be small and compact.
The 1950s are also worth noting, as they are considered the beginning of product development. It was during this time that the company introduced the world's first electric shaver. Braun's first shaver was the S 50.
The shaver was designed in 1938, but World War II halted its production until 1951. This model features a vibrating shaving unit with a thin but durable foil system. This principle is still used in Braun shavers today.
In 1963, with the help of American manufacturer Shure, the company began producing microphones. All products produced are designed with a sleek, calm functional style.
In 1967, the Gillette Group acquired 30% of the company. In the early 1970s, the company focused on manufacturing household appliances, including razors, coffee machines, clocks, and radios. Production of projectors and hi-fi equipment was discontinued.
In 1988, Braun OJSC was transformed into a private company. In 1981, the audio division was transformed into Braun Electronic GmbH. The last audio set was released in 1990, after which the business was discontinued. Also in the 1980s, the photography and projector division was acquired by Robert Bosch GmbH.
By the mid-1990s, Braun was one of the leaders in the production of household appliances, but at that time some problems arose. Many competitors were creating cheaper Braun products in low-income countries. Braun sued all such companies in court, seeking significant damages and damage to the company's reputation.

In the late 1990s, Braun and Gillette suffered huge losses in several countries. To improve profits, Gillette decided to sell off several unprofitable products. For example, electric toothbrushes, kitchen utensils, and thermometers. In the 2000s, Braun's sales had already increased significantly.
In 2005, Gillette was acquired by Procter & Gamble, while 30% of Braun became the property of P&G. Braun products are divided into the following categories:
- Shaving and body care products (electric razors, hair and beard care);
- Oral care (currently under the Oral-B brand);
- Head care (hair care and epilation);
- Health (ear thermometers, blood pressure monitors);
- Food and beverages (coffee makers, coffee grinders, toasters, blenders, meat slicers, juicers);
- Irons and clocks (hand irons, wall clocks).
