The Bosch company was founded by German entrepreneur and engineer Robert Bosch in 1886 under the name: “Master Class for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering.” The company consisted of one mechanic and one apprentice, and the capital of 10,000 was taken from his father's inheritance.
In the first years of its existence, the workshop was mainly engaged in the production and sale of all types of electrical equipment: from telephones to remote water alarms.
1901-1923: Became an international supplier of automotive tools.

In 1887, Robert Bosch's company created the first magneto ignition system for an engineering company. It was based on a device that produced an electric spark. By improving and adapting this system for high-speed engines, Robert Bosch solved a major problem in early automotive history - magneto ignition quickly replaced the dangerous Daimler tubes.
In order to independently produce components for magneto-evaporation systems, the company's first factory was opened in Feuerbach in 1909. The company's product range was completed by automobile headlights (1912-1913), electric starters (1914), horns (1921), windshield wipers (1926) and turn indicators (1928).
Bosch also began offering home appliances: in 1928, production of electric hair clippers began, and in 1933, the first Bosch refrigerator appeared. In 1932, the company began producing car radios.

In the 1920s, Bosch was constantly expanding its product range for the automotive industry. It produced bicycle lights, batteries, Bosch electric car signals, turn signals, and windshield wipers.
From 1933 to 1945, the company participated in the economic structure of the National Socialist regime. In 1937, Robert Bosch transformed the company from a joint-stock company into a limited liability company, so that the company would be in the hands of family members only.
After the war ended in 1945, most of Bosch's business was destroyed by air raids, but Robert Bosch did not live to see this happen, as he died on March 12, 1942.
